Hoax Alert: No Drugs Found in Fried Snacks, Confirms Jakarta Metro Police
Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Police have confirmed that the circulating rumor about fried snacks mixed with drugs is a hoax.
"Recently, there has been information suggesting a new method of drug distribution by mixing drugs into fried snacks or flour," said Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, in a statement on Thursday.
He stated that the narrative claimed this new method targeted school children and adults.
Ade Ary explained that, upon investigation, the rumor was found to be an edited result from a drug bust conducted in the Sentul area, Bogor, some time ago.
"The video claimed to show fried snacks or flour containing drugs is actually footage of a raid on a clandestine laboratory producing pinaca or cannabinoids," he said.
Ade Ary assured the public that there is no flour mixture containing drugs as circulated in the video. "The Chief of Polda Metro Jaya consistently reminds the ranks to commit to eradicating drugs without discrimination and to increase public education," he added.
