Ginting and Gregoria Lead Indonesia’s 13-Player Squad for Japan Open 2025
Tokyo. The Japan Open 2025 badminton tournament is set to take place at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium from July 15 to 20, with Indonesia sending 13 of its top shuttlers across five categories to compete.
Among the standout names are Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who are making their return to the court after a period of recovery.
The Japan Open will not only serve as a platform for players to showcase their skills but also as a testing ground for the Indonesian Badminton Association’s (PBSI) new strategies and pairings, particularly in the doubles categories where several rotations are currently being trialed.
The event will also test the players’ mental and physical endurance following the post-Asia Championships competition break. Familiarity with the Tokyo venue is expected to benefit the senior players, allowing them to adapt quickly to the conditions.
