Bali Immigration Searches for Two Israeli-Born Foreigners After Viral Gym Incident
Denpasar. Bali immigration authorities are searching for two Israeli-born foreign nationals holding Bulgarian and Romanian passports for questioning over their alleged expulsion from a gym in an incident that has gone viral on social media.
Denpasar Immigration Office head R Haryo Sakti said Friday that the two foreigners had been placed on an immigration watchlist to facilitate monitoring and questioning.
“The two have been placed on the immigration search list for monitoring and examination purposes,” Haryo said in Denpasar.
Immigration officers from the Denpasar office’s Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Division have checked immigration records and visited a gym in Sukawati, Gianyar regency, where the incident allegedly took place.
Authorities are investigating reports circulating on social media about three foreign nationals, allegedly from Israel, being expelled by the gym’s owner at around 7 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
Immigration officials have so far identified two of the three foreigners.
The first, identified by the initials IB, is 23 and was born in Israel. IB holds a Bulgarian passport and entered Indonesia through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Aug. 3, 2026, using a visa on arrival.
The second, identified as YBH, is 22, was also born in Israel and holds a Romanian passport. YBH entered Indonesia through the same airport on Aug. 3 using a visitor visa.
Immigration officials are also investigating the identity and circumstances of the gym owner who allegedly expelled the three foreigners.
The gym owner and the two identified foreigners will be questioned to establish the chronology and background of the incident, Haryo said.
He stressed that immigration authorities had not yet determined whether the two foreigners had committed any immigration violations.
“Determination of any violation and immigration measures against the parties concerned will be based on the results of the examination and applicable laws and regulations,” Haryo said.
Denpasar Immigration has urged members of the public who have information about the whereabouts or activities of foreign nationals suspected of violating immigration rules in its jurisdiction to report them through official complaint channels.
