Jakarta. The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has denied claims involving a female celebrity with the initial "A" in a corruption case linked to trading permits for tin commodities at state-owned tin miner Timah, which implicates businessman Harvey Moeis.

Ketut Sumedana, the Head of the AGO's Legal Information Center, dismissed such allegations as mere speculation.

"It's merely a rumor," Ketut stated when reached for comment on Monday.

Ketut further clarified that no female celebrity with the initial "A" has been identified in the case thus far.

Moreover, he mentioned that hundreds of witnesses have been interviewed in connection with the case.

"We have interviewed 173 witnesses," he confirmed. Harvey's wife, actress Sandra Dewi, was among the witnesses.

Harvey Moeis was suspected of being a middleman to facilitate illegal mining operations in areas owned by the state-owned tin miner Timah. Other suspects include socialite and businesswoman Helena Lim, as well as three former directors at Timah. The scandal potentially caused state losses worth a whopping Rp 271 trillion ($17 billion) in environmental damages as a result of the illegal mining activities.

Previously, Iskandar Sitorus, Secretary of the Indonesia Audit Watch, mentioned the involvement of a woman with the initial "A" in the Timah corruption case.

According to Iskandar, this woman comes from a wealthy background. "She is married into a wealthy family and can be considered a celebrity," he disclosed.

Iskandar provided a clue indicating that this person had once served as an MC at the private jet handover event from Harvey Moeis to his two-year-old son. "It's common for, let's say, during a celebration, he handed over the jet to his child. The MC service would be expensive, considering the jet's price. Similarly, when handing over a Ferrari, he would use an MC," Iskandar explained
