Jakarta.  American punk rock band Green Day will headline the 10th anniversary of Hammersonic 2025, scheduled to take place at Ancol Carnaval Beach, North Jakarta, on Feb. 15, 2025.

Ravel Junardy, Founder and CEO of Ravel Entertainment, announced the news on Thursday in Menteng, Central Jakarta. “We are bringing Green Day to Jakarta. Their appearance will be historic and a special gift for fans who have waited 29 years for them to come here,” Junardy said.

The band’s performance is expected to be a major event for music fans in Indonesia. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see this legendary band,” Junardy added.

In addition to Green Day, Junardy hinted that other renowned musicians, both local and international, might also be featured at the festival.

Tickets for Hammersonic 2025 will go on sale starting August 27, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Jakarta time. According to greendayjkt.com, ticket prices for the Green Day concert range from Rp 1,580,555 ($100) to Rp 2,655,000.

Green Day, the influential punk rock band from Berkeley, California, has been a major force in music since their formation in 1987. The group consists of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals, guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Tré Cool (drums, backing vocals).

The band gained widespread recognition with their 1994 album Dookie, which featured hits like "Basket Case" and "When I Come Around." This album marked their entry into mainstream success and established them as key players in punk rock. Their follow-up, American Idiot (2004), further cemented their place in music history with its political themes and singles such as "American Idiot" and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."

Green Day has received numerous accolades, including multiple Grammy Awards, notably for American Idiot. They have also won American Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. With over 85 million records sold globally, they are recognized as one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
