Ed Sheeran's Jakarta Concert Venue Shifted to Jakarta International Stadium
Jakarta. The much-anticipated "Ed Sheeran + - = ÷ x Tour 2024 in Jakarta," originally planned for March 2 at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) in Senayan, Jakarta, has been relocated to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in Ancol, North Jakarta.
The decision to move the concert by the British musician stems from the initial venue's commitment to hosting the Indonesia national football team's match against Vietnam in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers.
"We recognize the importance of the Indonesia national football team's matches, especially when we are hosting. Our support aligns with the government's goal to advance national sports. We also believe that JIS, as the largest international-standard football stadium in Indonesia, can provide an unforgettable experience for Ed Sheeran's fans," stated Harry Sudarma, Co-Founder, and Chief Operating Officer of PK Entertainment.
"Our team is currently working closely with JIS to ensure a smooth and enjoyable concert experience for all fans in Jakarta," he added.
Preparations for the concert at JIS are currently underway. The process of updating and allocating seats is expected to be completed by Feb. 25. All tickets purchased for the GBK concert remain valid for the JIS event. Ticket holders will receive emails with additional information on e-ticket access procedures and updated seat numbers.
"We continue to coordinate with JIS and several partners to ensure the smoothness and comfort of the concert. This includes providing additional parking spaces, shuttle buses at various pickup and drop-off points, as well as ride-hailing services," he concluded.
This upcoming concert marks Ed Sheeran's second performance in Indonesia. His earlier performance, scheduled for November 2018, was postponed to May 3, 2019, due to a hand injury resulting from an accident.
