2025 Harbolnas Online Shopping Event Aims $2.1 Billion, Up 10%
Jakarta. The 2025 National Online Shopping Day, or Harbolnas, aims to generate Rp 35 trillion (around $2.1 billion) in transaction volume, up 10 percent year-on-year (yoy) increase.
The upcoming Harbolnas will take place on Dec. 10-16. Indonesia is holding this event to amplify spending ahead of the year-end holidays. The government aims for the 2025 Harbolnas to record Rp 35 trillion in transactions, up from Rp 31.2 trillion the previous year.
As many as 1,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will take part in Harbolnas. E-commerce platforms of different sizes will also join in. Indonesia's Q3 growth of 5.04 percent yoy is expected to translate into more transaction volumes.
"Harbolnas has proven effective in encouraging digital shopping activity. In 2024, we saw Rp 31.2 trillion transactions, about 51.6 percent of which had come from local products," senior minister Airlangga Hartarto said.
Airlangga said that the Harbolnas, on top of other stimuli, will boost economic growth. This includes travel discounts, including a 30 percent discount for trains, among others. The government is also giving away airfare discounts of between 13 and 14 percent.
"We expect our economy to grow between 5.4 percent and 5.6 percent yoy in the fourth quarter," Airlangga said.
