Suahasil Nazara Installs 14 Finance Ministry Officials Amid Reshuffle
Jakarta. Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara on Monday inaugurated 14 officials at the Finance Ministry, including eight from the Directorate General of Taxes and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, as the ministry continues to reorganize its leadership.
The appointments cover promotions and transfers across several units, including three regional tax offices, two customs offices and the ministry’s Tax Court Secretariat.
The appointments come amid changes in the Finance Ministry’s leadership and ongoing personnel adjustments. President Prabowo Subianto appointed Suahasil Nazara as finance minister on Sept. 14, replacing Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, following a reported dispute over plans to reshuffle officials at the ministry, particularly in the tax and customs directorates.
Suahasil said the latest appointments were part of an ongoing process to refine the ministry’s organizational structure, with some officials promoted and others transferred.
“Some are being promoted, while others are being transferred. This reflects our comprehensive approach to today’s appointments. It is an ongoing effort to ensure that our organization continues to move forward, develop and respond to the challenges we face,” he said.
He also clarified that officials appointed previously had formally assumed their respective duties, describing Monday’s inauguration as a continuation of the earlier appointments.
“Those who were appointed previously have officially taken up their respective duties and positions. Today’s inauguration is a continuation of the process to complete the previous appointments,” Suahasil said.
The appointments were stipulated in Finance Ministerial Decree No. 293/2026, which amends Decree No. 271/2026, as well as Decrees No. 218/2026 and No. 219/2026.
