Prajogo Pangestu’s Energy Firm Dethrones BCA as IDX’s Most Valuable Company

Jakarta. Shares of Bank Central Asia (BCA), long regarded as the heavyweight of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), have been overtaken in market value by Barito Renewables Energy (BREN), a company controlled by energy tycoon Prajogo Pangestu.

According to IDX data released Monday, BREN now holds the top spot with a market capitalization of Rp 1,070 trillion ($65.5 billion), surpassing BCA’s Rp 1,028 trillion ($63 billion).

BCA, Southeast Asia’s most valuable bank by market cap, now ranks second among the IDX’s top 10 most valuable companies.

In third place is another Prajogo-linked company, Chandra Asri Pacific (TPIA), a petrochemical and infrastructure firm with a market cap of Rp 813 trillion.

The rest of the IDX top 10 includes:
4. Bayan Resources (BYAN) – Rp 633 trillion
5. DCI Indonesia (DCII) – Rp 584 trillion
6. Amman Mineral Internasional (AMMN) – Rp 582 trillion
7. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI) – Rp 579 trillion
8. Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA) – Rp 506 trillion
9. Bank Mandiri (BMRI) – Rp 438 trillion
10. Telkom Indonesia (TLKM) – Rp 274 trillion

The shake-up reflects growing investor enthusiasm for renewable energy and strategic infrastructure, particularly companies aligned with Indonesia’s energy transition goals.
