Indonesia's Biggest Handicraft Fair Aims to Draw 100,000 Visitors
Jakarta. The 24th Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (Inacraft) is set to kick off on Feb. 28 until March 3, 2024, at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). Indonesia's biggest handicraft exhibition is expected to draw 100,000 visitors with a transaction goal of Rp 100 billion ($ 6.39 million).
H Hatman, the Project Officer for Inacraft 2024, revealed that this year's event will occupy the entire JCC hall, spanning approximately 20,231 square meters. Inacraft 2024 boasts the participation of 1,500 MSMEs from across Indonesia. Furthermore, special promotion opportunities are provided for artisans from Palestine.
"Inacraft targets 100,000 visitors with a retail transaction goal of Rp 100 billion and an expected trade contract reaching $12 million (Rp 187.8 million)," he said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Organized by the Indonesian Exporters and Handicraft Entrepreneurs Association (ASEPHI) in collaboration with Mediatama Event, Inacraft aims to promote Indonesian handicraft products, boost the domestic market, and create opportunities for international trade.
"We will showcase the latest high-quality local products, expanding networks, and providing a platform for experience and education," Muchsin Ridjan, the Chairman of ASEPHI, said on Tuesday.
The 24th Inacraft offers a diverse range of Indonesian handicraft products, including batik, handwoven fabric (tenun), fashion and embroidery, shoes and travel accessories, jewelry, home appliances, souvenirs, decorative products, toys, and various other crafts.
Inacraft will also feature talk shows, craft workshops, and the Inacraft Award selection for outstanding craft products, as well as traditional music performances.
"To complement the exhibition, there is also a special culinary area in the form of Talam Inacraft, offering authentic and trendy Indonesian cuisine provided by 82 participants," she added.
