Garuda Wins World’s Best Cabin Staff Award for Record 6th Time
Jakarta. National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has been voted as having the world’s best cabin staff during the recent World Airline Awards organized by London-based aviation rating firm Skytrax at the Paris air show.
It was the sixth time Garuda has achieved success in this category, more than any other airline.
Garuda is also ranked 30th among the world’s top 100 airlines, improving by one position from last year.
The awards are based on “independent and impartial” surveys involving customers from more than 100 countries from September 2022 to May 2023, according to Skytrax.
Low-cost carrier Citilink, a subsidiary of Garuda, retains its spot in the world’s top 100 airlines, although the company dropped by three positions to 94th from last year.
During the gala at France’s Air and Space Museum on Tuesday evening, Citilink was also rated as Asia’s top six best low-cost airlines as well as the best low-cost airline in Indonesia.
“The global recognition reflected in these awards becomes a new milestone for Citilink to strengthen our global presence,” Citilink CEO Dewa Kadek Rai said in a statement on Thursday.
