First-Half Tax Collections Reach 45% of 2026 Target
Jakarta. Indonesia's tax collections reached about 45% of the government's full-year revenue target by the end of the first half of 2026, with receipts continuing to post strong year-on-year growth, the country's tax chief said on Wednesday.
Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto said the figure remains preliminary because the Finance Ministry is still reconciling data from tax offices across the country. Final first-half revenue figures will be announced by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at the ministry's monthly press briefing.
“Tax collections through June are around 45% of the annual target, but the final figures will be presented at the press conference,” Bimo told reporters in Jakarta. “I am not yet in a position to disclose the exact number.”
Despite collections remaining below half of the annual goal at mid-year, Bimo said tax revenue continues to show healthy momentum compared with the same period last year.
He estimated that tax collections through June grew by more than 23% from a year earlier, reflecting continued strength in government revenue despite lingering global economic uncertainty.
The government has set a 2026 tax revenue target of Rp 2,357.7 trillion (about $132 billion), roughly 24% higher than the amount collected in 2025.
