The state-owned utility company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) opens ample opportunities for women to work in more diverse and equal roles in the still male-dominated fields. The PLN's electrical engineers and technicians are not only dominated by men but also by women.

On April 20, 2022, two-woman technicians are assigned to oversee and monitor maintenance without blackouts at the electrical substation in a strategic area located in Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Central Jakarta,

PLN has 24 percent female workers of 1,406 employees in the Greater Jakarta area. They have occupied various strategic positions, with 48 percent or almost half being engineers or technicians. Then, 33 percent of them hold structural positions at the Middle Management level.

The spirit of emancipation sparked by Indonesian national heroine Raden Ajeng Kartini inspires the company to continue to grow and create new opportunities for anyone, especially women workers, so they can develop their careers for a transcend future.
