Jakarta. The iPhone 17’s arrival in Indonesia is expected to give a major boost to local distributor Erajaya Swasembada’s (ERAA) earnings this quarter, as Apple fans lined up overnight to get their hands on the new device.

Consumer enthusiasm was evident during the iBox Midnight Launch at The Space, Senayan City, Jakarta, on Thursday night. Long queues of premium buyers continued through Friday across several iBox outlets.

Verdhana Sekuritas Indonesia equity research analyst Jody Indra Wijaya said the new iPhone release would serve as a key earnings catalyst for ERAA, Apple’s main distributor in Indonesia. “The iPhone 17 is expected to deliver higher margins compared to other smartphone models, supporting ERAA’s profit growth in Q4 2025,” Jody noted in a research report published Monday.

He added that ERAA’s performance had shown signs of recovery in the third quarter. “Same-store sales growth (SSSG) as of August 2025 improved to -1.5 percent year-on-year, compared to -3.1 percent in the first half,” Jody said.

While the third quarter is typically a quieter period for ERAA, the fourth quarter often sees stronger sales momentum aligned with iPhone launches, historically a high-margin product cycle.

“Our industry survey indicates Apple has secured import licenses for upcoming iPhone models through next year. Therefore, we expect ERAA to post one of the strongest profit growth rates among discretionary retailers in Q4 2025,” Jody added.

On the stock market, ERAA shares gained 2.96 percent to Rp 416 as of 2:21 PM on Monday. Year-to-date, the stock has traded between Rp 312 and its peak of Rp 570.

Beyond the iPhone momentum, ERAA continues to diversify through its lifestyle subsidiary Erajaya Active Lifestyle (ERAL), operating under Sinar Eka Selaras. The company is expanding into smart lifestyle products from wearables and IoT devices to gaming consoles and accessories sold through its Urban Republic network.

ERAA has also entered the fashion and sports segments through brands such as ANTA and Wilson, strengthening its position as a smart lifestyle retailer. In the electric vehicle sector, ERAL recently opened the flagship XPENG showroom in Pondok Indah on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

The 3,413-square-meter facility serves as XPENG’s main sales, service, and parts center in Indonesia. By branching out beyond smartphones, ERAA aims to build a more resilient business model and sustain long-term profitability.
