Jakarta. B-Universe Media Holdings Executive Chairman Enggartiasto Lukita recently underlined the need to maintain tolerance and unity in Indonesia.

The former trade minister was attending an event at the Indonesian Christian Church (GKI) Klasis Priangan congregation at eL Hotel Bandung on Wednesday evening.

“Every Indonesian must do their best for the nation. This church group is a testament that one must be present and do something,” Enggartiasto said.

Enggartiasto also talked about how GKI Klasis Priangan still tried to preserve Chinese-Indonesian culture.

He added: “And I do applaud GKI Klasis Priangan for being able to preserve the language and culture of Chinese-Indonesian descent. I appreciate how the GKI Klasis Priangan preserves the language. But remember, when in Rome, do as Romans do.”

Enggartiasto also told GKI to embrace Indonesian culture.

“We can’t be exclusive. One must blend in and embrace Indonesian culture wherever we go,” Enggartiasto said.
