Jakarta. State-owned construction firm PTPP is speeding up the reconstruction efforts in the flood-affected Aceh.

The company has partnered with the Public Works Ministry to construct emergency infrastructure, install Bailey bridges, as well as temporary shelters in Aceh and North Sumatra.

At present, PTPP has launched five strategic programs focused on the recovery of vital infrastructure and community sanitation in the Bireuen, Pidie Jaya, and Peusangan areas. The company has also renovated prayer rooms, fixed water installations for clean water access, and constructed public toilet facilities. The company had also repaired other public facilities. All these reconstructions took place between Feb. 4-14.

“We understand that post-disaster recovery requires continuous support. That's why we are not only present at the emergency stage, but also the recovery phase of people's basic needs. This includes, in terms of sanitation, access to clean water, and public facilities," PTPP corporate secretary Joko Raharjo said.
