Jakarta. State-run construction firm PTPP announced Monday that it had signed a contract for roadworks at the judicial complex in Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara.

The contract is worth Rp 1.947 trillion ($116.8 million). PTPP will construct roads via a joint operation scheme, in which they will have a 25 percent share of the project. PTPP aims to finish the work within 793 days, namely between Oct. 31 and Jan. 1, 2027, followed by a one-year maintenance period.

According to PTPP's corporate secretary, the project encompasses some strategic sections within the judicial zone, including Section 36, Sections 16 & 2, Section 17, the Botanical Section, and the West Gate Section. They will also build the bridges that connect the main sections.

"This road infrastructure will serve as the backbone of connectivity for the state's judicial and legal institutions at the heart of the new capital. Its presence will strengthen the city's role as the center of government and a symbol of efficient and modern national governance," Joko was quoted as saying in a press statement.

Joko said that PTPP's involvement represented the company's concrete contribution to the sustainable and environmentally conscious development of Nusantara.

"PTPP remains committed to providing high-quality infrastructure by implementing the principles of green construction, resource efficiency, digital technology utilization, and occupational safety, which are the core principles of the new capital Nusantara development. We want to ensure that every road section we construct is not only functional but also environmentally friendly," Joko said.

The road construction also aligns with the government's so-called Asta Cita goals, namely the strengthening of the national infrastructure.

"PTPP's presence in Nusantara reflects our consistency in supporting Indonesia's transformation into an efficient, green, and sustainable center of government," Joko said.
