PT United Tractors Tbk Plants 1,000 Trees in IPB to Promote ESG
Bogor. United Tractors, the construction machinery subsidiary of the conglomerate Astra, recently planted 1,000 tree seedlings at the IPB University in Bogor.
The company’s employees, alongside the students and partner communities, took part in this event that aimed to promote environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. It was also part of the 2025 Envirofest series. The types of plants also varied, ranging from fruit trees to hardwood trees.
“Tree-planting is one of the concrete steps of implementing our ESG principles, especially in our efforts to slash carbon emission,” Ari Sutrisno, the director for human capital, corporate communications and sustainability at PT United Tractors Tbk, said.
This is not the only sustainability program done by the United Tractors. The company also seeks to cut fuel consumption in its internal business processes. It has also partnered with other stakeholders to promote sustainable environmental management.
United Tractors is partnering with IPB University for the tree-planting campaign. Nyoto Santoso, the head of the forest resources conservation and ecotourism at IPB, also welcomed the partnership.
“This is more than just planting. It is about building a culture of care to make sure that these plants are socially and ecologically beneficial,” Nyoto said.
IPB provides 20-30 hectares of land as an arboretum and campus forest park that are open to not just students, but also the general public. Lady Diandra, who held the status of the beauty pageant Puteri Indonesia Intelegensia 2024, also held a workshop session on sustainable development goals (SDGs).
"I’m very excited to be part of this tree-planting campaign. It is not just about planting trees, but this is also about educating the participants on how we can play a role to support the SDGs. All of us share the responsibility to protect the planet,” Lady Diandra said.
