PT Krakatau Chandra Energi (KCE) and PT Krakatau Tirta Industri (KTI) have established a partnership aimed at advancing the transition to sustainable energy.

Jakarta. PT Krakatau Chandra Energi (KCE), a renewable energy provider, has signed a power purchase agreement with PT Krakatau Tirta Industri (KTI) for a rooftop solar power plant. KTI specializes in clean and industrial water solutions in Cilegon and surrounding areas. This collaboration aims to enhance energy efficiency and promote renewable energy in industrial operations.

The agreement was signed by KCE President Director Erri Dewi Riani and KTI President Director Pria Utama in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The signing was witnessed by KCE’s Operations and Commercial Director Ari Azhar, Finance, HR, and Business Development Director Harry M. Tamin, and KTI’s Business Development and Commercial Director Agus Lukmanul Hakim. This partnership establishes a power purchase agreement (PJBTL) for a rooftop solar power plant with a total capacity of 1.8 MWp, with KCE responsible for building solar panels on KTI’s facilities.

Erri Dewi Riani stated that this partnership reflects KCE’s commitment to supporting green industrial development and reducing carbon emissions in the Krakatau Industrial Area. “As the demand for renewable energy increases, we can provide solutions to help industries achieve sustainability goals and improve operational efficiency,” she said.

Pria Utama remarked that this agreement is a significant step toward a sustainable future. “By utilizing solar energy, we not only reduce operational costs but also lower carbon emissions in our global efforts to mitigate climate change. We hope this collaboration extends beyond the rooftop solar project to further renewable energy developments,” he stated.

The rooftop solar system designed and installed by KCE will be implemented in three phases. The first phase will focus on the Excellence Center (GEC) and Cidanau Water Treatment Plant (WTP) areas, with an energy potential of 287 kWp. Phases 2 and 3 will target the Krenceng WTP area and the offices and workshop of PT Krakatau Tirta Operasi dan Pemeliharaan (KTOP), with a combined energy potential of 1,568 kWp, bringing the total capacity to 1,855 kWp.

Installation is scheduled to begin in early 2025, with completion targeted for 2026. This initiative underscores both companies' commitment to environmental stewardship and aligns with government policies promoting renewable energy use throughout Indonesia.

KCE is known for delivering reliable renewable energy solutions, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and floating solar developments. This partnership supports KCE’s mission to provide high-quality, competitive clean energy solutions for both industrial and retail customers.
