KB Bank’s GenKBiz Yogyakarta Encourages Business Innovation Among Young Entrepreneurs
Jakarta. KB Bank reaffirmed its commitment to fostering sustainable young entrepreneurs through GenKBiz Yogyakarta.
This is a business incubation program targeting young innovators with socially impactful and sustainability-driven business ideas aligned with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
GenKBiz is part of KB Bank’s efforts to strengthen a sustainable and inclusive national entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through this program, participants receive business mentoring and capacity building to develop ideas with strong commercial value as well as measurable social and environmental impact.
The GenKBiz Yogyakarta program concluded with a final pitching session, where finalists presented their business ideas before a panel of judges comprising industry practitioners, academics, and KB Bank representatives. The evaluation considered innovation, sustainability, ESG impact, and business feasibility.
The jury selected three winners of GenKBiz Yogyakarta. First place was awarded to Firdaus Sari Asta with Mustav Co, a premium sustainable corporate gift producer that transforms banana sheath waste into durable and elegant vegan leather. The business empowers women’s communities in Cilacap while reducing agricultural waste and supporting corporate ESG initiatives.
Second place went to Ade Kurniawan with CIP Janggel, an initiative that processes corn cob waste into high-value handicraft products, including home décor, furniture, and briquettes. Embracing a zero-waste concept, CIP Janggel addresses environmental pollution while creating jobs and providing craft education in rural communities.
Third place was awarded to Yoga Angkawijaya Kristiawan from Universitas Gadjah Mada with FoodLoop, a community-based food waste reduction ecosystem. FoodLoop provides Food Sharing Stations for surplus food distribution and Waste Upcycling Points for organic waste processing, while acting as a market intermediary connecting food businesses with companies seeking measurable CSR/ESG programs.
According to KB Bank President Director Kunardy Darma Lie, GenKBiz reflects KB Bank’s strong commitment to nurturing innovative and sustainability-driven young entrepreneurs.
“KB Bank believes that young people play a strategic role in creating business solutions for future challenges. Through GenKBiz, we aim to encourage entrepreneurs who are not only profit-oriented but also deliver real environmental and social impact,” he said.
KB Bank hopes to continue serving as a strategic partner for young entrepreneurs in building competitive, sustainable businesses that contribute positively to local and national economic development.
