Jakarta. Enthusiasm soared high for the 2026 Jakarta IP Market (JIPM).

Countless intellectual property (IP) owners have met brands, creators, industry players, and potential business partners in the conference that begun on Wednesday.

“We believe intellectual property holds immense potential to drive Indonesia’s creative economy. We aim to create a space that connects creators with brands, investors, manufacturers, and strategic partners, enabling more Indonesian IPs to evolve into sustainable businesses,” JIPM chair Mochtar Sarman said.

Suharini Eliawati, the assistant for economy to the regional secretary of the Jakarta province, expressed support for strengthening the creative economy.

“Jakarta possesses great potential as a hub for Indonesia’s creative economy. Through the JIPM, we hope more IPs gain public recognition and evolve into products that can compete at both the regional and global levels," Suharini said.

Beyond the exhibitions and business-matching sessions, visitors could get to learn more of the licensing ecosystem in the filming industry. Under the theme "Film as the Licensing Locomotive: Before, During & After the Box Office", the discussions traced a work's journey from its pre-release phase and theatrical run to the period following its cinema release.

The panel featured Upie Guava (Film Director, Guava Production), Rayhan Islamy (General Manager, Jakarta Film Commission), Cornelio Sunny (Film Director, Sunny Bros), Chris Lie (CEO, Caravan Studio), and Redemptus Rangga (CEO, Rangkai.id).
