Indosat Launches Security Operation Center for Proactive Security Solutions
Jakarta. Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting national technological sovereignty with the launch of the Indonesia AI Center of Excellence and the Security Operation Center in Jakarta on Friday, July 11.
This strategic move is expected to help position Indonesia as a key player in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology at both the national and global levels.
“Today’s event marks the launch of the Indonesia AI Center of Excellence, which we know was initiated by the Communication and Digital Affairs Ministry as mandated by the President. In addition, we are also launching the Security Operations Center. These two initiatives are highly important as they involve various stakeholders -- from the government to experts and academics,” said Danny Buldansyah, Director & Chief Business Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison.
The launch event was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives from the government, global technology companies, and academia. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident with the presence of notable figures such as Chuck Robbins, Chair and CEO of Cisco; Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecom at NVIDIA; Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer of Cisco; Dave West, President of Cisco Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China; and Marc Hamilton from NVIDIA -- all of whom were warmly welcomed.
“You can clearly see the tremendous enthusiasm -- Cisco’s global CEO came in person, as did representatives from NVIDIA, all receiving a warm welcome from the participants. Of course, we’re very grateful to the Communication and Digital Affairs Ministry, especially Mr. Nezar Patria as Deputy Communication Minister, along with several Director Generals who were present and offered their full support,” Danny added.
As the highlight of the event, the symbolic launch of the Security Operation Center was held. Executives from Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Cisco stood together on stage in front of a globe symbol bearing the word "AI", signifying their joint commitment to strengthening Indonesia's cybersecurity and digital infrastructure resilience. This moment marked a cross-sector synergy aimed at creating a secure, robust, and globally competitive technology ecosystem.
Indosat reaffirmed its commitment to driving national digital transformation through the establishment of the Indonesia AI Center of Excellence and the Security Operation Center. These initiatives are expected to enhance cross-sector collaboration in building an inclusive AI ecosystem with real benefits for society.
Danny Buldansyah stressed that this initiative is more than just a corporate agenda -- it is part of a national movement toward technological independence. “The most profound takeaway from today’s event is the spirit of turning this into a movement. Not just an Indosat initiative, but a national movement for Indonesia to become a player in AI -- not only domestically but globally as well,” he stated.
Through this launch, Indosat strengthens its position as a strategic government partner in realizing Indonesia’s vision of becoming a hub for AI innovation and digital security.
