Jakarta. Women’s singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung finished on the podium for the third consecutive time at Kumamoto Masters Japan since its 2023 edition.

BNI sees this achievement as proof that the development program which the bank has backed has bore fruit. The bank has been supporting the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) in training the country’s athletes.

"Gregoria's achievement once again proves that sustainable athlete development can produce world-class achievements. BNI is proud to be a part of the journey and struggles of Gregoria and other Indonesian athletes," BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo was quoted as saying in a press statement.

Gregoria was a runner-up at the 2025 Kumamoto Masters Japan. This achievement marks her first podium finish in the 2025 BWF Tour, thus reflecting her momentum. Gregoria's consistency cements her position as one of the top Indonesian women's singles players today. This success provides valuable capital for future tournaments and demonstrates the significant progress of the women's singles sector in recent years.

Gregoria’s achievements include the 2017 BWF World Junior Championship, silver at the 2016 Asian Junior Championships, bronze at the 2017 and 2021 SEA Games, and her best performance yet, winning a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

According to Okki, BNI remains committed to continuously supporting PBSI’s efforts to develop the country’s young talents. This includes supporting the national training center and expanding opportunities for Indonesian athletes to compete in international tournaments.
