BPJS Kesehatan Unveils 8 Quick Win Programs
Jakarta. The state health insurer BPJS Kesehatan has unveiled 8 quick win programs that the agency's new board of directors aim to achieve in its first 100 days.
BPJS Kesehatan has announced its board of directors for the 2026-2031 term. According to the insurer's president director Prihati Pujowaskito, the quick wins consist of 4 customer-centric programs and the other half are the so-called "collaborative programs".
"We developed our customer-centric program specifically to accommodate the fundamental needs of JKN participants, formulated by gathering community aspirations. The community's expectations are the same: a quick and solution-oriented response when they encounter problems accessing administrative or health services. It is also being implemented to expand the reach of integrated services, thus involving synergy with various stakeholders in its implementation," Pujo was quoted as saying in a press statement.
The four customer-centric programs are as follows: 1) rapid solution response; 2) robust contribution; 3) young chronic disease management program (Prolanis); 4) eliminating efficiencies.
As the name suggests, the rapid solution response focuses on addressing concerns reported by participants of the national health insurance JKN. It also sees BPJS Kesehatan expanding its communication reach to rural areas. To this end, BPJS Kesehatan launched the 24-hour administrative services via WhatsApp or better known as PANDAWA. Previously, participants could only access PANDAWA from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The service is now available 24 hours at 08118165165.
"We are also committed to providing priority services with a standard service time of less than 5 minutes," BPJS Kesehatan Membership Director Akmal Budi Yulianto said.
"Indonesia has entered the digital welfare state era. This means that public services in the future can move from reactive to proactive. Fast and solution-oriented public services are paramount, and digitalization helps us combat time inefficiencies. The 24-hour PANDAWA service is a major direction of the national digital transformation," Communication Minister Meutya Hafid said.
The priority services in question cover three areas.
First, adding family members for newborns (PBI JK), private sector/state-owned enterprise/regional-owned enterprise employees, civil servants, military and police officers, as well as retirees/veterans.
Second, reactivating JKN membership status for children aged 21 and over who are still in college, inactive wage-receiving workers who have moved from their membership segment to independent participants, and Indonesian citizens returning from abroad. Third, changes or corrections to data include civil servant/TNI/POLRI class and salary, mobile phone numbers, and changes to identity (NIK, KK, date of birth, and address).
The contribution program aims to optimize premium revenue through collaboration with JKN stakeholders via corporate social responsibility (CSR) donations and daily and weekly premium installments (development of the REHAB Program).
The Young Prolanis Program is intended for participants with diabetes mellitus and hypertension under the age of 45.
BPJS also gets rid of inefficiencies by using artificial intelligence to assist the claims verification process.
The four Collaborative Programs include: 1) P-Care MBG to monitor the growth and development of the free meal program recipient students in three schools, as well as the health status and JKN membership of SPPG (public kitchen) officers at three SPPG locations; 2) Healthy Students for Public Schools, which provides regular health checks for students in three public schools; 3) Healthy JKN Village, which involves collaboration with the Red and White Cooperative (KDMP) in a pilot health insurance program with KDMP as the facilitator; and 4) JKN 3T, which involves collaboration with the Indonesian Navy's hospital support ship to remote areas.
