Jakarta. Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) is backing Indonesian racing driver Sean Gelael as he begins his 2025/26 endurance-racing season in the Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS), reaffirming his presence in top-tier international competition while carrying Indonesia’s name onto the global stage.

Sean will compete in the GT class, driving a Ferrari 296 GT3 alongside experienced teammates Davide Rigon of Italy and France’s Charly Samani. The campaign marks Gelael’s first competitive outing in a Ferrari, following previous stints racing GT cars from manufacturers such as BMW, McLaren, and Audi across various international series.

The Asian Le Mans Series is regarded as one of Asia’s most competitive endurance championships, with many participating drivers and teams also active in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and GT World Challenge Europe. Competition in the GT class is expected to be particularly intense, with reigning ALMS champion Manthey Racing among the leading contenders after securing back-to-back LMGT3 titles in the FIA WEC.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said Sean’s consistent participation at the international level reflects the growing competitiveness of Indonesian athletes globally.

“Sean’s fighting spirit, consistency, and professionalism embody BNI’s values as we continue to support Indonesian talent on the world stage. We hope this partnership provides additional motivation for Sean throughout the 2025/26 season,” he said in a statement.

Gelael acknowledged that the new season presents fresh challenges, citing not only the switch to a new car but also the transition to a new team and teammates.

“The changes are not just about the car, but also the team and my teammates. Still, I am confident in my ability to adapt, including as part of the Ferrari family,” said Gelael, who also serves as a Pertamax Turbo brand ambassador.

The 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series will be contested over three rounds comprising six races. The opening round is scheduled at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on December 13–14, 2025, followed by the second round at Dubai Autodrome on January 31 and February 1, 2026. The final two races will take place at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on February 7–8, 2026. Each race will run for four hours and will be broadcast live on the Asian Le Mans Series’ official YouTube channel.

In addition to BNI, Gelael’s ALMS campaign is supported by several partners, including KFC Indonesia, Pertamax Turbo, and Pertamina Fastron. Through this support, BNI underscored its ongoing commitment to promoting Indonesian sporting excellence and strengthening the country’s global profile through international competition.
