Saarbrücken, Germany. Indonesian badminton continues to shine on the world stage. National training center athlete Putri Kusuma Wardani has secured a runner-up finish at the Hylo Open 2025 in Saarbrücken, Germany, a result that reflects the success of Indonesia’s talent development under the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), strongly supported by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said Putri’s achievement brings pride not only to Indonesian badminton, but also to the nation’s youth.

“BNI is extremely proud of Putri Kusuma Wardani. Her accomplishment is not just a win for Indonesian badminton, it is a symbol of resilience, discipline, and hard work of our young generation. We hope Putri’s success inspires more young athletes to excel on the global stage,” Okki said.

Putri is the only Indonesian national training center representative to reach the final of the Hylo Open 2025. Her performance cements her position as Indonesia’s current top women’s singles shuttler — and a leading figure in the new generation of world-class athletes.

Her career trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable. Earlier this year, she made history as the first Indonesian women’s singles player in a decade to win a medal at the BWF World Championship since 2015. Her consistency and excellent performance have now taken her to world No. 7 and Indonesia’s No. 1 in women’s singles.

Born in Tangerang on July 20, 2002, Putri has shown tremendous promise from a young age. At just 18, she won the BWF World Tour Super 300 Spain Masters, a breakthrough moment that signaled the rebirth of Indonesia’s women’s singles in international competition.

As the main partner of PBSI, BNI continues to support the development of young athletes, not only to achieve international podium finishes, but also to cultivate character, sportsmanship, and global competitiveness.
