Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian conglomerate Boustead Holdings Berhad (BHB) is partnering with Indonesia's MarkPlus Indonesia (MCorp) to strengthen its leadership pipeline and organisational capabilities as part of its broader corporate transformation.

The collaboration, led through BHB's Group Human Capital Management (GHCM) division, will support the establishment of Boustead Academy and accelerate the Group's efforts to become a high-performance organisation.

MCorp, which manages the Kotler Marketing Institute in collaboration with Kotler Marketing Group China, provides corporate education, market research, consulting, media and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) services across Asia.

The partnership marks a significant milestone in BHB's transformation journey. Through stronger leadership capabilities, a performance-driven culture and strategic organisational transformation, Boustead Academy is expected to help position the Group as a preferred player in Malaysia's defence industry, in line with the objectives of the country's Defence Industry Policy (DIPN).

The initiative focuses on strengthening local talent, advancing high-value manufacturing and technological innovation, unlocking new business opportunities, and building strategic public-private partnerships to accelerate industry development and create sustainable long-term value.

BHB Chairman General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Abdul Aziz Haji Zainal (Rtd) said the partnership was anchored in the aspiration to "Make Boustead Great Again", reflecting the Group's commitment to revitalising its organisational culture, unlocking employees' potential and driving sustainable, long-term value creation.

"Ultimately, this strategic direction qualifies Boustead Group to fulfil the Government's defence requirements, nurture local talent, strengthen domestic industrial capabilities and build a more resilient, self-reliant Malaysian defence industry ecosystem," he said at the memorandum of collaboration (MoC) signing ceremony between BHB and MCorp on Monday.

The MoC was signed by BHB Group Managing Director Colonel (Honorary) Dato’ Indera Ir. Dr. Hj Ahmad Sabirin Arshad, FASc, and MCorp Founder and Chairman Hermawan Kartajaya. General Tan Sri Abdul Aziz and BHB Group Chief People Officer Badrol-Izam Baharom witnessed the signing.

General Tan Sri Abdul Aziz said the Group's transformation involved more than shifting its business focus, requiring corresponding changes in leadership mindsets, organisational culture and execution capabilities.

"Building a high-performance organisation is a continuous journey. We must create an environment where our people can grow, embrace continuous learning and reflect our values in the way we lead, make decisions and deliver results. By investing in our people today, we are laying the foundation for Boustead's future readiness and long-term sustainability," he added.

Dr Ahmad Sabirin said BHB remained committed to developing its human capital, strengthening leadership capabilities and aligning its organisational culture with the Group's evolving business ambitions.

"This partnership represents an investment in the talents who will shape Boustead Group's next chapter, reinforcing our commitment to building a stronger, more capable and future-ready organisation.

"We want our people to have the clarity, confidence and competencies to perform their best while building careers within BHB," he said.

He added that the Group aimed to create an environment where employees could maximise their potential, contribute meaningfully to organisational goals and pursue long-term career growth.

The initiative comes as Boustead continues to refine its business direction, including its ambition to strengthen its presence in the defence sector. The transition requires leadership continuity, stronger organisational capabilities and a workforce equipped to respond to evolving business needs.

It also highlights the importance of preparing future leaders, preserving institutional knowledge and developing specialised expertise to advance the Group's strategic priorities.
