Jakarta. Bank Shinhan Indonesia strengthened its position in operational innovation and banking transformation after winning two awards at the 2nd Indonesia Operations Banking Summit (IOBS) 2026, held in Jakarta on April 13–16.

The annual event, organized by the Communication Forum for Operation Banking Directors (FKDOP), carried the theme “Journey to World Class Operations” and brought together banking industry leaders to discuss operational transformation, innovation, and digitalization.

Bank Shinhan Indonesia received the Innovation Breakthrough Award in the Gold category and the Innovation Culture Management Award in the Fundamental Norm category, recognizing the lender’s efforts to enhance operational efficiency, foster innovation, and strengthen workplace culture amid the rapid evolution of digital banking.

In the Innovation Breakthrough category, the bank was recognized for implementing operational improvements and innovation initiatives that delivered measurable impact. According to the assessment results, the Gold and Diamond categories each represented 33% of participants, underscoring the competitive nature of the awards and reinforcing the bank’s standing within Indonesia’s banking sector.

The IOBS 2026 assessment also highlighted several strategic priorities for the banking industry, including improving the visibility and enterprise-wide impact of innovation, as well as accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence-based technologies into operational activities.

The initiative aligns with FKDOP’s broader mission to support the sustainability and competitiveness of Indonesia’s banking industry through collaboration and innovation-driven transformation.

Bank Shinhan Indonesia CEO Koo Hyunghoe said the bank would continue accelerating its technology-driven transformation by strengthening operational excellence, implementing continuous process improvements, adopting AI-based initiatives, and enhancing customer experience.

“Our focus remains on delivering greater value to customers and stakeholders while continuing to build world-class operational capabilities,” Koo said.
