Bank Raya’s Saku Bareng Allows Joint Savings for Up to 300 People
Jakarta. Bank Raya, the digital banking subsidiary of the state-run lender BRI, enables up to 300 people to save money as a group.
This feature, dubbed the Saku Bareng (“Joint Pocket”), is available on the Raya app. Saku Bareng enables users to create up to five pockets, making it easier to separate personal and community budgets. The admins can also check out how much each member has contributed and spent via the Financial Recap feature. There is also a money bill feature that makes it easier for admins to collect payments from members according to predetermined amounts. All members can monitor their balances and transactions in their joint accounts. Outgoing funds can only be accessed by admins. Members will also receive transaction notifications. Monitoring joint savings accounts is thus more practical, transparent, and secure.
"We continue to drive innovation in the features and flagship products in the Raya app, as we strive to understand our customers' needs for banking transactions. Communities are a growing element of society, and we understand that collective savings to achieve shared goals is a challenge for most communities. By increasing the number of members in Saku Bareng, we hope to overcome this challenge,” Bank Raya’s business director Kicky Andrie Davetra said.
By the second quarter of 2025, Saku Bareng had over 2,000 community members using its services, totaling over 1,300 pockets. Saku Bareng grew Rp 1.9 trillion ($115.7 million) in the second quarter of 2025, up by 49 percent year-on-year (yoy). Most of the community customers are in Jakarta, West Java, and Central Java.
"We see enormous potential in community growth in Indonesia, given that Indonesia is a communal nation. With its strong social dynamics and strong social character, communities in Indonesia will become stronger and continue to grow as the value of togetherness continues to be upheld in our daily lives," Kicky said.
As of June 2025, the Raya app transactions reached 2.1 million, up 42.7 percent yoy, with more than 1.05 million users. Digital savings growth reached Rp 1.5 trillion, representing a 66.6 percent yoy increase. These figures drove the growth of low-cost funds, driving positive CASA (current account and savings account) growth of 7.6 percent yoy to Rp 2.5 trillion. This further increased the bank’s CASA ratio from 26.77 percent (Q2 2024) to 29.72 percent (Q2 2025).
"The strength of communities within Indonesian society, with shared interests and backgrounds, presents an opportunity to accelerate digital literacy and make it more accessible to the public. We are committed to being a financial friend and growth partner for communities and businesses through the convenience of products and features in the Bank Raya app," Kicky said.
