Bank Raya’s National Running Event Aims to Spur Local Economy and Expand Digital Finance
Jakarta. Bank Raya, a digital bank under the BRI Group, is set to host the Raya Run in Surabaya on October 26, 2025, an event expected to attract thousands of runners while promoting digital financial solutions.
Organized in partnership with fitness brand 20FIT and Visa, the national running event will feature both a 5K Fun Run and a 10K race. Beyond sports, the Raya Run is designed to stimulate Surabaya’s economy by involving local creative industry players and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The press conference announcing ticket presales was attended by Bank Raya’s Director of Business, Kicky Andrie Davetra; Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi; and 20FIT COO Novi Eastiyanto. Tickets went on presale beginning September 12.
“Surabaya was chosen because of its great potential in the digital and creative economy. With thousands of runners coming from across Indonesia, we hope to boost the local economy while introducing digital transactions through the Raya App,” said Kicky.
Mayor Cahyadi welcomed the event, saying: “Let us prepare the city to be clean and hospitable so runners can leave with lasting impressions of Surabaya.”
Participants will be able to register using digital payment options, including QRIS, Virtual Accounts, and for the first time, the new Visa Digital Debit Card via the Raya App. Customers paying with the Visa Digital Debit Card will receive a Rp 50,000 discount per registration, while QRIS users can enjoy Rp 20,000 cashback with promo codes RAYAQRIS10K and RAYAQRIS5K.
The Visa Digital Debit Card, fully managed within the Raya App, allows domestic and international transactions, limit setting, card locking, and real-time monitoring. Security features include two-step authentication, PIN verification, and CVV protection for online transactions.
“We’re very excited to be working with Visa to bring a variety of digital transaction solutions to our customers. With this collaboration, Bank Raya customers can enjoy seamless banking transactions anytime, anywhere,” said Kicky.
During the event, MSME vendors and creative economy players will be integrated into the festival area, offering products and services payable through cashless transactions, further supporting local business growth.
Bank Raya’s digital ecosystem continues to expand rapidly. As of June 2025, the Raya App had surpassed 1.05 million users, with transaction volume rising 42.7 percent year-on-year to 2.1 million transactions. The total transaction value reached Rp 1.5 trillion, marking a 66.6 percent annual increase.
The bank emphasized its commitment to becoming Indonesia’s leading digital bank by accelerating innovation, expanding access, and offering comprehensive financial solutions to the public.
