Astra Infra’s Toll Roads Ready to Welcome Holiday Rush
Jakarta. Infrastructure company Astra Infra Group recently said that the toll roads that it operates were ready to welcome the upcoming holiday rush.
Many Indonesians are about to go on road trips for the year-end and Christmas holidays. Astra Infra Group’s holiday rush task force head Rinaldi told reporters that the company had made some preparations for the holiday rush.
“All roads are in prime condition. We have also readied the necessary facilities to anticipate any potential floods or landslides. Our staff are ready 24/7,” Rinaldi said in a press briefing in Jakarta on Monday.
Astra Infra has set up 500 CCTV cameras, 7 traffic counters, 24/7 call centers, 800 personnel, and 90 operational vehicles. About 5.5 million vehicles are forecast to travel on Astra Infra’s Tangerang-Merak, Cikopo-Palimanan, and Jombang-Mojokerto toll roads this holiday season, up by 2.1 percent compared to last year. The rest area at KM-86 of the Cipali toll road is now operational. Astra Infra will also have patrol and rescue teams on standby. The same goes for ambulances.
“We will go all out for this holiday season,” Rinaldi said.
Astra Infra’s group chief executive officer Firman Yosafat Siregar said that the company pledged to do its best in giving the best travel experience for the vacationers.
“This moment serves as a platform for us to work with various stakeholders to make sure that the holiday season goes well,” Firman said.
Deputy Public Works Minister Diana Kusumastuti praised Astra Infra Group for making improvements to a number of sections in the Trans-Java toll road to brace for the holidaymakers.
“We are aware that many Indonesians will visit their families and go on holidays during this time. We need to mitigate and get rid of any potential problems. Thank you Astra Infra Group for setting up a responsive task force that will be on standby 24/7,” Diana said.
