Bandung. The National Working Meeting of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) kicked off Monday evening in Bandung with high energy and an unexpectedly large turnout, setting a vibrant tone for the days ahead.

Held at the eL Hotel Bandung, the opening night’s Welcome Dinner drew more than 700 participants from across the archipelago, far exceeding organizers’ expectations. Guests included business leaders from a wide range of sectors -- including enthusiastic representatives from Papua and small business owners from regional areas.

“The energy was incredible. The number of guests surpassed our projections, and they came from diverse institutions all over Indonesia. Even MSME entrepreneurs were actively involved,” said Ning Wahyu Astutik, Chair of Apindo’s West Java chapter, in an interview with B-Universe.

The evening featured singing, dancing, and a celebration of cultural diversity, with many attendees proudly wearing traditional attire from their respective regions.

Eddy Hussy, Chair of the organizing committee, echoed the sentiment. “I’ve seen incredible enthusiasm from participants coming in from every corner of the country,” he said, adding that the number of attendees is expected to surpass 1,000 on the second day of the event.

Apindo Chairwoman Shinta Kamdani was also seen enjoying the atmosphere. “This is just the first night and everyone is already singing and dancing,” she said. “I can feel the energy from all our friends here, proudly wearing their regional outfits -- it’s clear they’re thrilled to be here.”

The gathering marks one of Apindo’s most dynamic national meetings in recent years, signaling growing momentum within the country’s business community.
