2025 Indonesia's Horce Racing Ends on A High Note

Jakarta. The 2025 Indonesia's Horce Racing (IHR) King Hamengku Buwono X Cup ended on a high note over the weekend.

The horse race took place at the Sultan Agung Racecourse in Yogyakarta.

As many as 120 horses from 12 provinces had joined the competition, which was held by SARGA.CO to revitalize horse racing in the country.

The event also marked the conclusion of the 2025 IHR series "The Race of Rising Stars," which saw as many as 9 championships taking place in Central Java, Yogyakarta, West Java, and West Sumatra. The prize pool totaled nearly Rp 6 billion ($360,258), with an average of 130 racehorses participating per championship. SARGA Festival also enlivened the championship, amassing over 250,000 visitors throughout the year.

IHR 2025 "The Race of Rising Stars" also made history by producing the third horse to win the Indonesian Triple Crown. King Argentin from West Java had won the Class 3-Year-Old Derby in the IHR Triple Crown Series 1, IHR Triple Crown Series 2, and the IHR Indonesia Derby in 2025.

SARGA.CO Co-Founder & CEO Aseanto Oudang said they were proud to have completed the event calendar.

"We hope that through increasingly professional and prestigious implementation, horse racing in Indonesia will become even more recognized and become a source of national pride," Aseanto said.

The 2025 IHR King's Cup HB 10th saw 54 horses reach the podium, earning a total prize pool of Rp1 billion. The winner of the 2025 King's Cup was Triple SS from Central Java, who triumphed in a tight battle in the 2,000-meter Open Class. In the other prestigious classes, the 3-Year-Old Derby Division I 1400 M Class, with a prize pool of Rp 110 million, and the Open Sprint 1300 M Class, with a prize pool of Rp 100 million, the winners were Monochrome from North Sulawesi and War Kudeta from West Java.

BHM Stable from South Kalimantan and Eclipse Stable from Central Java were the stables with the most podium finishes, each with six podium positions, followed by Nona Cindy Stable from East Java with four.

SARGA.CO is now preparing to host more horse racing championships in 2026 in partnership with the Equestrian Association of Indonesia, PP Pordasi.

SARGA.CO's VP of Marketing & Operations, Kevin Jonathan, explained said they would prepare "new experiences" for the upcoming events.

"We also want to show the public that horse racing, which has strong cultural values ​​in Indonesia, is not exclusive but can be enjoyed by all levels of society," Kevin said.

PP Pordasi chairman Aryo Djojohadikusumo remains upbeat for the partnership. The conclusion of the King Hamengkubuwono X Cup will mark a new milestone for horse racing in Indonesia.

"Next year, we will return with something bigger, one of which is holding three King's Cups in one year," he said.

The 2025 IHR King Hamengkubuwono X Cup earned support from Arsari Tambang, Le Minerale, Japfa, Pertamina, My Republic, JHL, PLN, Vitalong C, Hokben, Garuda Indonesia, and the Tourism Ministry.

"We hope to continue to maintain and even strengthen this collaboration, to further promote horse racing and provide a multiplier effect for the Indonesian people," Aseanto said.
