Jakarta. Vice President-Elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka recently praised the collaboration forged by media groups Disway and B-Universe Media Holdings.

Both companies announced that they would join forces at the Satu Inspirasi gala dinner on Thursday evening. Gibran, who was attending the dinner, warmly welcomed the partnership.

“The partnership between B-Universe and Disway will bring a positive impact on [the media industry’s] news coverage,” Gibran said.

Likewise, former East Java Deputy Governor Emil Dardak said that B-Universe and Disway made a “great match”. According to Emil, Disway’s vast socio-cultural network, alongside the company’s frequent use of local wisdom, are some of the charm points that the company has. B-Universe is also a multi-platform media group that encompasses TV as well as printed and online media. Emil said he hoped the collaboration between B-Universe and Disway would be for all Indonesians, particularly for the East Java province.

“I think this can help boost East Java’s potential at the national level. Not only that, more [institutions] can partner with the network in East Java,” Emil said.

Disway encompasses 260 media outlets, and there are 100 media outlets under B-Universe’s auspices. B-Universe includes BTV, IDTV, Beritasatu.com, The Jakarta Globe, Investor.id, 10 regional news channels, and 60 sub-national portals that are members of the B-Network. Disway boasts a media network of 110 portals, 80 print media, and 10 local television stations.
