President Prabowo Strengthens Diplomatic Relations with Foreign Leaders at Merdeka Palace

Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto met with several foreign leaders and special envoys at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday. This meeting is part of President Prabowo's diplomatic efforts following his inauguration for the 2024-2029 term.

The series of meetings aims to reinforce Indonesia's bilateral relations with friendly nations across various sectors. The agenda underscores President Prabowo's commitment to enhancing international cooperation and expanding Indonesia's diplomatic network during his administration.

The day began with the arrival of US Special Envoy Linda Thomas Greenfield at the Merdeka Palace around 1:00 p.m. Jakarta time, where she was warmly welcomed by President Prabowo in the Credential Room. Following a photo session, she signed the guestbook as a symbol of honor before the meeting commenced.

This was followed by a meeting with Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, who also received a warm welcome from President Prabowo, including a photo session and signing of the guestbook.

The discussions continued with the French President's special envoy, Francois Corbin, who was welcomed in a similar manner.

After the formal introductions, the meetings progressed in the Jepara Room, where representatives from each country discussed various strategic issues of mutual interest.

Additionally, President Prabowo welcomed Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Jeremiah Manele, and Prime Minister of East Timor, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, in separate meetings during his busy schedule of ministerial appointments.

Prime Minister Manele arrived first around 5:00 p.m. and was greeted by President Prabowo, followed by a photo session and guestbook signing. Shortly after, Prime Minister Xanana arrived for his meeting with the president, which included the same welcoming protocol.

Both meetings took place in the Jepara Room, attended by delegations from each country. During their discussions, President Prabowo and the two prime ministers addressed various strategic issues, including enhancing intergovernmental cooperation.
