Prabowo to Host Singapore’s Lawrence Wong for Bilateral Talks
Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to meet with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on November 6 to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional and global issues.
Ahead of their meeting, Foreign Minister Sugiono will hold preliminary discussions with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, according to Rolliansyah Soemirat, spokesman for the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
“The upcoming talks are expected to lead to mutually beneficial agreements,” Rolliansyah said during a press conference in Jakarta, though he did not elaborate on specific topics.
Wong’s visit will mark his second as prime minister, following his attendance at Prabowo’s presidential inauguration on October 20.
Prabowo’s first international engagements as president will begin on November 10, with scheduled attendance at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
