The Hague, Netherlands. President Prabowo Subianto was officially received by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at the Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague on Friday.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties across strategic sectors, with a key agenda being the repatriation of historical Javanese artifacts to Indonesia.

“An important item discussed was the Dutch government’s commitment to the process of returning 30,000 historical Javanese objects and artifacts to Indonesia,” the Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat said in an Instagram post.

The official statement also noted that the discussions with the Dutch monarchs symbolized a shared commitment to deepen relations and expand cooperation opportunities in the future.

Prior to visiting the Netherlands, Prabowo stopped in Canada, where he signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and a defense memorandum of understanding (MoU). The CEPA, witnessed by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, eliminates tariffs on more than 90 percent of Indonesian products, boosting trade between the two G20 nations.

The defense pact aims to strengthen ongoing military cooperation, including joint training exercises and support for the development of national defense industries. The MoU was signed by Indonesian Defense Minister Budi and Canadian counterpart Maninder Sindhu.

Prabowo’s Netherlands visit marks the fourth country on his international tour, following Japan, the United States, and Canada. Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono confirmed that Prabowo is scheduled to return home on Sept. 26–27.
