Police Raid Alleged Drug Lab at Bali Villa
Jakarta. The anti-narcotics squad of the National Police raided a villa suspected of being used as a drug lab on the resort island of Bali on Saturday.
Reports said the villa was misused to produce ecstasy pills and grow marijuana and that three foreign nationals were arrested during the raid.
While confirming the raid, Bali Police spokesman Jansen Avitus Panjaitan declined to provide details pending the initial investigation.
The villa is located in Canggu Village, Badung Regency, near the provincial capital, Denpasar.
Jansen said an investigation is underway to determine the substance of chemicals seized from the villa and promised to hold a news conference when the results are ready.
"We have an active investigation including the evidence. We are waiting for the results from our lab just to make sure. Those in custody are still under interrogation," Jansen said.
Reports said that the raid was supervised by Brig. Gen. Mukti Juharsa, a director of the National Police’s criminal investigation agency.
