Jakarta Secures First Place in Indonesia Digital Society Index 2025
Jakarta. The Jakarta provincial government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) has recorded another achievement in digital transformation, topping the Indonesia Digital Society Index (IMDI) 2025 with a score of 56.97.
Bangka Belitung followed with 52.15, while West Java came third with 52.05, according to the report released by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi). The award was presented by Minister Meutia Hafid at the IMDI 2025 ceremony held at Ganara Art Space, FX Sudirman, Jakarta, on Thursday.
Head of Jakarta’s Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency, Budi Awaluddin, said the recognition reflects joint efforts between the government, industry, and the public.
“This achievement is the result of collaboration across sectors and communities that actively use digital technology. We will continue to improve digital services and innovations for Jakarta residents,” Budi said.
The IMDI measures digital development across four pillars: infrastructure and ecosystem, digital skills, empowerment, and employment. The 2025 survey, conducted between July and August, involved more than 18,000 individual respondents and 11,000 industry respondents, and included indicators from the Digital Literacy Index (ILD).
