Probolinggo, East Java. A doctor and his wife died as a result of a multiple-vehicle crash involving a Harley Davidson convoy in the East Java town of Probolinggo on Sunday afternoon.

Police reported that the pile-up began when the couple attempted to avoid a collision with strangers on a motorcycle, which abruptly made a turn in front of them. Unfortunately, they lost control of their bike and collided with another Harley Davidson in the convoy at high speed.

As a result of the crash, the couple were struck by a car traveling from the opposite direction, while their bike slid and collided with two people on a Yamaha scooter who were not part of the convoy.

The deceased victims were identified only as Azis, a doctor, and his wife Elsa Kartika. Further details about them were not immediately available. Their Harley was registered in Jakarta and they were part of a convoy traveling from the resort island of Bali to Surabaya.

Made Sudana, the rider of the Yamaha scooter who escaped serious injuries along with his wife, recounted seeing at least four Harley Davidson bikes involved in the pile-up.

"There was a motorcycle that suddenly turned in front of them, causing several Harley bikes to brake hard," Made said at the scene, approximately 150 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital, Surabaya.

The minibus driver, identified as Yohandoko Saputra, described a Harley Davidson veering uncontrollably toward his direction at high speed, resulting in an inevitable collision.
