Bobby the Cat Steals the Show as China Ambassador Congratulates Prabowo
Jakarta. Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Lu Kang, visited presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto on Sunday at his residence on Kertanegara Street, South Jakarta, to convey congratulations on Prabowo's success in the 2024 election.
During their meeting, Ambassador Lu Kang extended warm congratulations to Prabowo for his substantial lead in various quick counts and preliminary real count results.
"Thank you to the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, H.E. @Amb_LuKang, for the congratulations and visit to the Kertanegara House, Jakarta," Prabowo wrote on his X account @prabowo.
"Together with me, Bobby Kertanegara is also accompanying in welcoming the Ambassador's visit," he added, referring to his pet cat.
The meeting, held in Prabowo's office, became more relaxed as Bobby, a stray cat adopted by Prabowo, joined in the conversation. Prabowo took the opportunity to introduce Bobby to his honored guest. At the end of the meeting, Prabowo invited Bobby to take a photo together with Lu Kang.
In addition to China, other countries extending their congratulations to Prabowo include Australia, the Czech Republic, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, the United Kingdom, and Russia.
As of Monday at 01:00 PM WIB, more than 70 percent of the results from over 820,000 polling stations have been tallied.
Prabowo, running alongside Gibran Rakabuming Raka, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's eldest son, leads with approximately 55.32 million votes, constituting around 58 percent of the votes. Presidential candidate Anies Baswedan and running mate Muhaimin Iskandar secured 24 percent of the votes, equivalent to 22 million votes, while Ganjar Pranowo and Mohammad Mahfud MD attained 17 percent or approximately 16 million votes.
