Take Me Down to Jakarta City: Guns N' Roses Returns in 2026
Jakarta. Legendary American rock band Guns N' Roses will return to Jakarta as part of its 2026 world tour, bringing one of the world's most recognizable rock acts back to Indonesia after its last performance in the country eight years ago.
Promoter Rajawali Indonesia announced the concert during a press conference in South Jakarta on Friday, confirming that Jakarta is one of only two Southeast Asian cities included in the band's tour itinerary this year.
Founder of Rajawali Indonesia, Anas Syahrul Alimi, said Indonesia remains one of the band's strongest markets in the region.
"Only Jakarta and Singapore are included in Southeast Asia. There are no other countries in the region on this tour. Guns N' Roses has a very strong fan base here," Anas said.
Unlike the band's previous Jakarta concert in 2018, which took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, this year's performance will be held at Madya Stadium in the Senayan sports complex.
According to Anas, the smaller venue is expected to offer a more intimate concert experience for fans.
"In 2018 they performed at the main stadium. This year they will play at Madya Stadium, so ticket availability will be more limited and the atmosphere will be more intimate," he said.
Rajawali Indonesia President Director Tovic Raharja said organizing a Guns N' Roses concert requires extensive preparation because the Jakarta show forms part of a global tour with demanding production standards.
"We need to ensure every aspect is properly prepared because this is part of a world tour. It requires a long preparation process and meeting operational production standards is one of the main challenges because the scale of the production is very large," Tovic said.
He added that every international concert presents different challenges, but Guns N' Roses requires particular attention to logistics, technical requirements, and production specifications.
"Each concert has its own character and challenges. For Guns N' Roses, the main challenge is that this is part of a global tour with exceptionally high standards. We have to ensure the production, logistics, and the band's operational requirements are all met from the beginning," Tovic said.
The upcoming concert marks the band's second performance in Indonesia since its reunion tour era, which brought founding members back together and reignited interest among longtime fans worldwide.
Ticketing details and the exact concert date are expected to be announced by the promoter in the coming weeks.
About Guns N' Roses
Guns N' Roses is one of the most influential rock bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, the group rose to international fame with its debut album, Appetite for Destruction, which remains one of the best-selling debut albums in music history.
The band's classic lineup featured lead vocalist Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, and bassist Duff McKagan. Their biggest hits include Sweet Child o' Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, November Rain, and Paradise City.
Following years of lineup changes and internal conflicts, the band reunited key members in 2016 for the highly successful "Not in This Lifetime" tour, which became one of the highest-grossing concert tours ever. Guns N' Roses continues to perform globally and remains one of the most commercially successful and enduring rock bands in the world.
