Jakarta. Indonesian pop star Raisa Andriana has filed for divorce from her husband, Hamish Daud, after eight years of marriage, according to the South Jakarta Religious Court on Thursday.

Court spokespersons confirmed that the divorce petition was filed electronically on October 22, and the first hearing is scheduled for November 3. The couple, who share a daughter, have yet to issue any public statements regarding the case.

Raisa, 35, is one of Indonesia’s most celebrated singers and songwriters, known for her soulful voice and elegant stage presence. She first rose to fame with the hit single “Serba Salah” (“Everything Goes Wrong”) and her self-titled debut album in 2011, followed by “Heart to Heart” in 2013.

She has received numerous national and regional music awards and once shared the stage with legendary composer David Foster during his Jakarta concert in 2008. Raisa was also chosen by Walt Disney Pictures to perform the Indonesian-language version of “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” for the live-action remake of Cinderella.

A frequent guest at official state events, Raisa often performed at functions attended by then-President Joko Widodo, who was known for his lighthearted remarks and admiration for her talent.

Her marriage to Hamish Daud -- an actor, TV presenter, and environmental activist -- became a nationwide sensation when they tied the knot on September 3, 2017, in what fans jokingly dubbed “the day Indonesian hearts broke.”

Hamish, an Australian citizen who grew up in Bali and speaks fluent Indonesian, was known for hosting travel programs on Trans TV before turning to acting. The two reportedly met through the film Terjebak Nostalgia (“Trapped in Nostalgia”), in which Hamish starred while Raisa provided the soundtrack.
