Jakarta. Jakarta's Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono has called on the public to join the Flag and Proclamation Parade on Aug. 10, celebrating Indonesia’s independence with a route from the National Monument (Monas) to the new capital, Nusantara.

"We invite everyone to celebrate and take part in the parade, which will commence at 08:00 a.m. Jakarta time," Heru Budi announced in a promotional video on Friday.

The procession will travel from Monas through central Jakarta, passing notable spots such as the Horse Statue, Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, Semanggi Flyover, and Cawang, before reaching Halim Perdanakusuma Airport and concluding in Nusantara, East Kalimantan.

In Nusantara, the flag and proclamation text will be formally received by the flag-raising team.

Heru also mentioned that about 3,000 invitations will be sent for the 79th Independence Day ceremony in Nusantara, with another 3,000 for the Jakarta event. Invitations will be distributed in the morning, afternoon, and to workers and local residents in Plaza Seremoni in Nusantara.

The parade will be streamed live on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

To accommodate the event, Metro Jaya Police will implement traffic management starting at 07:00 a.m. on Aug. 10, affecting routes from Monas to Gatot Subroto. TransJakarta services will continue to operate normally.
