Indonesian Metal Bands Stranded as Cork, London Shows Fall Through
Jakarta. Three Indonesian metal bands -- DeadSquad, Jasad, and Death Vomit -- were left stranded during their European tour after shows in Cork and London fell through amid allegations that the promoter failed to provide agreed facilities and arrangements.
In a joint statement posted on social media on Monday, the bands said promoter Diablo Productions failed to arrange essential requirements including venues, transportation, accommodation, and communications.
“We would like to confirm that our tour with Diablo Productions has encountered serious problems, resulting in the cancellation of our shows in Cork, Ireland, and London, England,” DeadSquad said in a statement that also tagged Jasad and Death Vomit.
The bands alleged that several arrangements previously promised and agreed upon had not been properly prepared or fulfilled.
The London concert was canceled by the venue after it said Diablo Productions had never formally booked or rented the space, according to the statement.
“The venue contacted us directly through Instagram and explained that Diablo Productions had never officially reserved or rented the venue,” DeadSquad said, without identifying the venue.
“The venue also explained that they had repeatedly tried to contact Diablo by email and telephone to obtain confirmation but received no response.”
The problems continued after the three bands performed at Lost Lane in Dublin. They said the promoter subsequently failed to provide accommodation and transportation needed for the next leg of the tour.
As a result, DeadSquad, Jasad, and Death Vomit were unable to proceed with their scheduled performances in Cork and London.
“We tried to resolve everything internally and remained cooperative throughout the process. However, what happened demonstrated a serious lack of preparation, organization, communication, and professionalism on the promoter’s part,” the bands said.
“With numerous commitments left unfulfilled, we feel deeply disadvantaged and disappointed by Diablo Productions.”
The bands said they decided to make the dispute public in the interest of transparency and to warn others in the music industry, particularly those involved in the extreme music scene.
Despite the setback, DeadSquad, Jasad, and Death Vomit said they remain determined to complete the rest of their European tour as scheduled under a different promoter.
The tour is set to resume on Aug. 20 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, before continuing to several other European cities.
For the remaining dates, the bands said they will work with DF Bookings, an experienced extreme music promoter and longtime associate of all three groups.
