Solo. Solo Mayor and vice presidential candidate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, visited the ongoing construction site of the De Cultural and Technology Museum in the Jebres Sub-district of Solo, Central Java, alongside Mayapada Group founder and investor in the museum, Dato Sri Tahir, on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media, Dato Sri Tahir said the museum will showcase exhibitions related to space and ancient history. "We want to find large bones (dinosaurs) to be placed here later," he said on Tuesday.

The De Cultural and Technology Museum is one of the 17 priority development projects initiated by Gibran after being elected as the Mayor of Solo. It is being built on land owned by the Solo City Government, with funding provided by the Mayapada Group.

Dato Sri Tahir is targeting the completion of the two-phase construction of the museum by the end of this year.

"Everything must be expedited; hard work is required. I am satisfied with the progress so far because this is a significant project developed in Solo. God willing, it can be opened by the end of the year," he said.

The construction itself is carried out in two phases. The first phase has currently reached 40 percent completion, with a target to finish around July-August. Subsequently, the second phase is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka hopes that the museum construction will be completed on time.

"The museum can become a new educational destination and the pride of Solo residents. And, from what I saw, it is progressing as planned. Possibly, by July 2024, we can welcome tourists," Gibran said.
