Singapore. Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong will visit Jakarta on Tuesday to co-chair the 16th Singapore-Indonesia Six Bilateral Economic Working Groups Ministerial Meeting (6WG MM) with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto.

The visit will be Gan's first to Indonesia since assuming his current role, according to a statement issued by Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry.

"The 6WG MM is a key economic platform and high-level forum established between Singapore and Indonesia to advance and review bilateral cooperation across six strategic sectors, namely Batam, Bintan and Karimun (BBK) and other special economic zones, investment, manpower, transport, agribusiness, and tourism," the ministry said.

The statement noted that the two neighboring countries continue to enjoy strong economic ties. Indonesia is Singapore's sixth-largest trading partner globally, while Singapore has remained Indonesia's largest source of foreign direct investment since 2014.
