National Internship Program to Involve 415 Companies at Initial Phase
Jakarta. Manpower Ministry (Kemnaker) has recorded 451 companies registered as organizers of the National Internship Program, offering around 1,300 internship positions to over 6,000 applicants.
The participants will consist of fresh graduates from diploma and undergraduate programs, with around 20,000 interns expected to join the first phase. The six-month program will run from October 15, 2025, to April 15, 2026, and may expand depending on demand.
“The program is a collaboration between universities and the business and industrial sectors,” said Manpower Ministry Secretary-General Cris Kuntadi in Jakarta on Sunday.
The initiative will officially launch on October 15 as part of the government’s 8+4+5 Economic Package under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and guidance from President Prabowo Subianto.
Cris said the program aims to help graduates transition into the workforce by equipping them with relevant experience and skills aligned with their studies.
Interns will receive a monthly allowance equivalent to the provincial minimum wage (UMP), funded by the government through state-owned banks under the state bank association, Himbara. They will also be covered by employment insurance, including workplace accident (JKK) and death benefits (JKM), and receive mentorship from company supervisors. Participating companies are required to submit monthly progress reports on their interns to the ministry.
Separately, Head of the Ministry’s Research and Development Agency (Barenbang) Anwar Sanusi said company registration and job postings ran from October 1–7, followed by participant registration and position selection from October 7–12. The selection process for companies will take place on October 13–14, with final announcements to follow shortly after.
All registration and management processes are carried out digitally through the SIAPKerja platform at maganghub.kemnaker.go.id
