Indonesian Stocks Slip as Investors Await Prabowo’s 2027 Budget Plan
Jakarta. Indonesian stocks slipped 0.08% on Friday as investors turned their attention to President Prabowo Subianto’s upcoming address on the government’s 2027 budget priorities.
Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) fell 5 points to the level 6,297. The index moved between 6,282 and 6,303 during the session.
Trading volume reached more than 3.11 billion shares, with total turnover of Rp 981 billion ($54.99 million) and more than 193,000 transactions. A total of 241 stocks rose, 228 declined and 211 were unchanged.
Phintraco Sekuritas said investors would focus on Prabowo’s address on the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) scheduled for Friday.
The House of Representatives’ Budget Committee previously outlined eight clusters under the government’s 2027 National Priority Work Program: food sovereignty; energy and water self-sufficiency; education; health; downstreaming and industrialization; infrastructure, housing and disaster resilience; the people’s economy and villages; and poverty reduction.
Meanwhile, Phintraco Sekuritas highlighted growth in Islamic banking financing. Bank Indonesia reported that financing by Islamic banks reached Rp 720 trillion as of June 2026, up 11.43% year-on-year.
The expansion was supported by continued growth across the Islamic finance industry. Islamic banks’ third-party funds reached Rp 816 trillion, rising 13.13% year-on-year through June.
On the business side, the halal supply chain grew 5.5% year-on-year, while outstanding corporate sukuk reached around Rp 95 trillion over the same period.
“This development creates increasingly greater room for Islamic financing to support productive investment and expansion in the real sector,” Phintraco Sekuritas said.
Kiwoom Sekuritas Indonesia said global market sentiment was positive after US producer price data for July showed weaker-than-expected inflationary pressure.
Headline producer prices were flat month-on-month and rose 4.7% year-on-year, while core producer prices increased 0.2% month-on-month and 4.2% year-on-year. The data reinforced expectations that inflationary pressure was beginning to ease, prompting investors to renew their appetite for technology stocks and other risk assets.
Wall Street closed higher on Thursday, with major indexes setting new records as technology stocks rallied following the softer-than-expected PPI data.
The S&P 500 rose 0.65% to 7,798.99 after briefly breaking above 7,800 and reaching an intraday record of 7,816. The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.81% to 26,803, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.13% to 53,839.
“The decline in Treasury yields also supported gains in rate-sensitive stocks,” Kiwoom said.
In Asia, markets were mixed as of 9:15 a.m. Jakarta time on Friday. Tokyo’s Nikkei rose 0.74%, while Seoul’s Kospi advanced 0.94%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng slipped 0.51%, while the Shanghai Composite gained 0.11%.
