Jakarta. The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) opened slightly lower by 0.46 points, or 0.01 percent, at 8,007.96 on Friday morning. The index traded in the red, moving between 7,986 and 8,003 in early session. Around 1.21 billion shares changed hands with a transaction value of Rp 662.78 billion across 77,838 trades.

Despite the muted start, several stocks posted strong gains. Property developer Makmur Berkah Amanda (AMAN) led the top gainers with a 34.13 percent jump, hitting the upper trading limit (auto-rejection upper). Logistics firms Grahaprima Suksesmandiri (GTRA) and Krida Jaringan Nusantara (KJEN) followed, rising 23.56 percent and 19.26 percent respectively. Energy company Atlantis Subsea Indonesia (ATLA) gained 15.38 percent, while Harta Djaya Karya (MEJA) climbed 9.68 percent.

Overseas, Wall Street hit new records on Thursday, led by tech stocks. The S&P 500 rose 0.5 percent and is on track for a third straight weekly gain. The Dow Jones added 124 points (0.3 percent), and the Nasdaq climbed 0.9 percent. Intel surged 22.8 percent after Nvidia announced a $5 billion stock purchase as part of a data center and PC collaboration. Nvidia itself rose 3.5 percent, driving the S&P 500 higher.

The Federal Reserve cut its main interest rate for the first time this year amid a slowing job market, while inflation remains high. Market expectations for further rate cuts have supported investor optimism, though volatility risks remain.
